Thanks to the kind help of a few people on this sub I figured out how to use FFMPEG in order to take what my camera outputs (mp4 with h264 + AAC audio) and transcode it into something that can work with Resolve Studio (one option is of course DNxHD. marsden it Videomass for transcoding mp4 to mkv for Linux Da Vinci users. 10-bit 4:2:2 color depth provides superior dynamic range, original picture representation, and flexibility in adjusting color.
The AJA Ki Pro Rack is a tapeless, file-based video recorder that captures and records in ready-to-edit ProRes and DNxHD codecs, in 10-bit 4:2:2 full-raster files, and onto HDD or SSD storage modules (sold separately).
